Know Your Status
How do you spot an STI? Unfortunately, there is no one symptom that lets you know for sure that you’ve been infected. Many STIs have no immediate symptoms, while others have symptoms that only appear from time to time. If you think you may have been exposed to an STI or to HIV/AIDS, or if you’ve had unprotected sex, you should get tested immediately. Remember, it takes a while for a test to detect HIV in your body. So you may test negative for HIV even if you have it. Wait a few months and get tested again.
